Prof. Nejat was an invited speaker and panelist at the Social Robots in Health session at Connected Minds 2025 Conference
Robots are moving into spaces once thought to be exclusively human, and in healthcare, that shift is opening up urgent and exciting possibilities.
The session Social Robots in Health on October 8, 2025, with Goldie Nejat and Maja Mataric in conversation and Michael Jenkin and Amy Wu co-chairing, explored how socially assistive robots are stepping into roles that support both physical rehabilitation and mental health. These technologies promise to bridge critical gaps in care, offering timely and personalized support.
The discussion moved beyond the technical to tackle questions of trust, empowerment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It focused not on distant futures but on what’s unfolding right now, challenging us to think critically about how we build technologies that care.
